Since 1981, Faculty of Medicine 1st class Medical Biology - Genetics lessons and practices, and Dentistry Medical Biology - Genetics lessons and practices have been done. In addition, since 1989, by the faculty members; Atatürk Health Services Vocational School; (Medical Laboratory, Radiology, Anesthesia, Odiometry); Medical Biology and Genetics course for 1 semester is theoretically given to the School of Nursing, İzmir Atatürk School of Health and Nursing.The Department of Medical Biology has a Master and Doctorate Program since 1983, affiliated with the Institute of Health Sciences of Ege University. In these programs, 52 Master's and 26 Doctoral Theses have been completed so far.
