Departmental Education and Training Services

Since 1981, the Department has delivered Medical Biology and Genetics courses and practical training for first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as Medical Biology and Genetics courses and practical sessions for students of the Faculty of Dentistry.

In addition, since 1989, faculty members of the Department have provided a one-semester theoretical Medical Biology and Genetics course for students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory, Radiology, Anesthesia and Audiometry programs of Atatürk Vocational School of Health Services, as well as for students of the School of Nursing, İzmir Atatürk School of Health and the Department of Nursing.

The Department of Medical Biology has maintained master’s and doctoral programs under the Graduate School of Health Sciences of Ege University since 1983. To date, 52 master’s theses and 46 doctoral dissertations have been completed within these programs.
