MOLECULAR BIOLOGY LABORATORY
In our department, a routine laboratory, which can reflect the concept of molecular medicine and gained technological competence in the field of genomics, serves clinics. Molecular Diagnosis services provided by the department routinely are listed below. Molecular Biology laboratory has been performing more than 80 routine molecular analyses in many clinics since 2004 and still provides routine molecular analysis service with Ege University Genetic Diagnosis Center. Our vision in our department is to carry out basic and applied researches and develop laboratory services at the gene and cell levels, especially for new diagnosis and treatment methods. In our department, mutation/polymorphism analysis and genotyping are performed in these disease groups to evaluate the susceptibility to diseases such as thrombophilia, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia, which are common in society. The tests performed are shown in the table below. Also, to help leukemia diseases in terms of molecular diagnosis, different translocation tests are performed in the leukemia panel and B-Cell Immunoglobulin gene clonality and T-cell receptor gene clonality tests are carried out to help diagnose and classify lymphoma. A new generation of DNA sequencing (NGS) for drug targeting is also performed for various cancers.
